High Inflation으로 상태가 악화된다고 언급했다

'excats a toll' 이 악화시킨다라는 뜻이라고 한다

 

“We know that high inflation exacts a toll, particularly for those less able to meet the higher costs of essentials like food, housing, and transportation,” Powell said in prepared testimony.

 

파월은 준비된 연설에서 “높은 인플레이션이 특히 음식, 주택, 교통과 같은 필수품의 높은 비용을 감당할 능력이 없는 사람들에게 큰 피해를 준다는 것을 알고 있다”고 말했다.

 

인플레이션을 막으려면 금리인상을 해야하는데 파월이 이런 언급을 했다는 건 금리인상의 속도가 빨라질 수 있다는 것이다

 

Powell also said in his prepared remarks that the U.S. job market is “strong” and the economy is “expanding at its fastest pace in many years.”

 

또한 파월 의장은 미국의 고용시장이 강하고 경제가 아주 빠르게 확장되고 있다고 언급했다

Goldman Sachs expects the Federal Reserve to raise interest rates four times this year and begin the process of reducing its balance sheet size as soon as July, joining other big banks in forecasting an aggressive tightening of U.S. monetary policy.

 

골드만삭스는 연준이 올해 네번 금리를 인상하고 이르면 7월에 대차대조표 축소 절차를 시작할 것으로 내다봤다

 

지금까지는 약간 비둘기파의 경향을 보였던 Fed의 태도가 매파적으로 움직인다면 시장은 변동성이 커질 수 있을 것 같다
